Test Results

test_vialsPlease telephone the surgery after 14:00 hours (2pm) to obtain the results of laboratory investigations. If you prefer to to obtain your results in person please call into the surgery after 14.00 hours (2pm).  The receptionist will either give you the results or ask you to make an appointment to discuss them with your usual doctor. This is because the interpretation of results is sometimes quite complex and is better explained by your doctor.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice. It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.

Please return requested, On the Day Sample! and Documents by 10. 30am as they are collected by Northampton General Hospital between 10.30am-11am each morning Only. They cannot be stored  overnight. Thank you.

If the Reception is occupied please place sample and document's attached in the WHITE BIN on reception labelled PATHOLOGY SPECIMENS ONLY

If you take a specimen bottle please ensure that the label is fully completed before returning it as the pathology lab will not process specimens that are not adequately labelled.
